(I have not been to sure on how to create pages, so i am making this on 'Historical context' post and will be adding to it each week)
What sense do you get of what Elizabethan England was like?
The English Elizabethan Era is one of the interesting and renowned periods in the entire History of the country. Elizabethan England got its name from the Queen Elizabeth I. Elizabethan England is famous for the Explorers, like Walter Raleigh. and Sir Francis Drake. It was hone to some the very first Theatres in England: William Shakespeare, the globe and Christopher Marlowe.
Food, clothes ,Entertainment, education, sports, music, language, we the culture of the era.
Life in Elizabethan England varied according to Class and where you were located in England there was far more wealth in London at this time because of its rich culture. A lot of what came into London was of foreign origin so its became far more valuable because it was not easily accessible, London was the hub for entertainment and fashion. London was very inspired but italian and french designers and so many of the trends where not English at all but in fact were the trends of allies so England. Life in the Era was very differed it was complelty dependent on the amout of wealth you had. The rich were rich and the poor were poor. It was the time of the Renaissance, completely new and exciting ideas in science and literature where being discovered and this had an effect on all aspects of Elizabethan Daily life.
